Tango Viruta en Palermo, Buenos Aires
Last night we were blown away by the dance moves of our students as we learned to dance tango. We practiced the lead and follow parts in two separate lines, learning the seven "pasos" and then practiced with several different partners. From there, we added a "paso falso" and learned to move in a counter clockwise circle, with the leader's hand always facing to the center. Our instructors explained that these guidelines are standard worldwide, so our students should be prepared to dance tango wherever they travel! Finally, we learned a finishing pose and then relaxed with pizza and drinks. A few students tried the "milonga" after, which is more simple than tango and danced in a large group. We enjoyed seeing some experts take the floor near the end of the evening. ¡Dale, chicos!
