But the good stuff, the real good stuff, the sounds and smells and the look of Tangier -- what you see and hear when you lean out the window and take it all in -- that's here to stay. -Anthony Bourdain

On Saturday, we took the students to Tangier. Well known internationally, the city has been a destination for diplomats, spies, businessmen, and writers. We started the afternoon with lunch at a seafood restaurant that served huge platters of fried fish.

After lunch, we met a local who took us on a tour of the city. We visited Phoenician tombs, the Kasbah (an administrative area of the old city), and the Souk or residential area. Then we headed to Cape Spartel, where the Atlantic Ocean meets the Mediterranean Ocean.

Before getting on the road back to Rabat, students had free time at Hercules Caves. According to mythological tradition, Hercules rested in a cave near Cape Spartel before performing a task in the quest to be granted immortality.
