Rica Paella en Taller Cocina Andaluz: Cooking Class II
First, the students heard an explanation about how tradicional Paella is not really seafood based. Paella is a rice dish from the region of Valencia. Paella has ancient roots and is a dish of humble origins, but its modern form originated in the mid-19th century in the area around the Albufera lagoon on the east coast of Spain, adjacent to the city of Valencia. Valencian paella is believed to be the original recipe and consists of white rice, green beans, meat (rabbit or chicken), and seasonings such as saffron and rosemary. How´s that for a fun fact!

As the Paella is cooking the students took a picture with the always smiling chef Victor!
Now let´s taste the broth to make sure it is exactly as planned! Elizabeth, Gianlucca, Paige and Karina were the testers.

Maya and Aniya bonding over Paella!

While cooking a little trivia from Sevillian history is always a great idea!

Why not try the vegetarian Paella?

The students enjoying the cooking process.
