Rainbows, Butterflies and Water Falls Oh My...The magic of Iguazu Falls
What an incredible treat the kids were exposed to over the weekend. We flew from Buenos Aires to Iguazu , where we were greeted by the warmth sub tropical climate and the feel of summer breeze. We stayed at a beautiful Spanish style hotel El Pueblito, boasting its very own Biocentro butterfly garden, serpentarium and wild tropical flora. We then headed over to the Guira Olga Animal rescue for a guided tour , where we learned about deforestation leading to environmental degradartion and many animals losing their natural habits resulting in severe decrease in animal population in the brink of extintion. We saw Tucans, blue Macaws, howling monkeys, wild boars and many other animals who had been rescued, rehabilitated, and kept safely in the sanctuary. On our second day we headed to Iguazu falls one of the seven natural wonders of the world with more than 250 waterfalls in the middle of the jungle. The students were delighted as the roaring waters of the Garganta Del Diablo waterfall completely drenched them. The last part of the excursion we were exposed to the most magical, awe inspiring natural wonder, a double rainbow and absolutely stunning waterfalls. On our third day we headed over to another guided tour of Minas de Wanda, an insanely gorgeous Amethyst mine, were we explored the caves, touched the crystals for blessings of good luck and prosperity. We then had a delicious asado BBQ lunch and headed to the airport to board the plane back to Buenos Aires.
