Portugal at Last!
We've arrived at our hotel safe and sound!
We had two groups meet at the airport before heading by bus to the hotel. We’re lacking sleep, but other than that, spirits are HIGH! We’ve had a packed schedule since arriving with an online orientation where students got to learn more about each other, their program leaders and Portugal. In the afternoon students went on walking tours of the city and had our first Portuguese language lesson sitting by the water!
Tomorrow we'll continue our orientation, have our first introductory class on aquatic ecosystems, a scavenger hunt around the city of Setúbal and visit The Museu do Trabalho Michel Giacometti (Work Museum)! There we’ll learn more about the different traditional trades in the region, mainly fishing! The museum is located in an old tin canned sardine factory!
More to come!
