It is our last week in Toulouse...students and Program Leaders are feeling many mixed emotions.

On Wednesday, all 54 students and 1 host brother, gathered together for a picnic lunch at La Ferme Pédagogique de Cinquante. Upon arrival, students found shaded areas to enjoy their lunch with their friends. You could see and hear how close these students have become. Four weeks ago they were all strangers and now they are one big family. They will be leaving Toulouse with many fabulous memories and a new appreciation for the French culture and language.

After lunch, the students were divided into 2 groups to participate in 2 activities offered at the farm. Students were able to walk through a park filled with a variety of animals such as goats, cows, horses, sheep, rabbits and birds. They even saw a peacock, a llama and the biggest pig any of us have ever seen!

The second activity taught the students how to make their own butter. This was presented to them all in French and they each took turns shaking the bottle to make the butter. At the end, they were able to taste the butter on a slice of baguette. They were amazed at how delicious it was and how easy it was to make! We heard many students say they are going to make it for their families when they return to the USA.
