Parque Güell
On Wednesday, our students had the chance to visit the iconic park designed by Antoni Gaudí: Parque Güell. After studying modernism the day before, the students were able to appreciate the modern designs and concepts presented in the park. We first started at the plaza that is lined with mosiac tiled benches. Although the park in currently under construction, the students were still able to admire the artwork and the view of the city. We then challenged the students to the scavenger hunt. The students had to find hidden treasures within the park. For example, the students had to find a upside down '13' tiled within the benches, a sign in English, and Hansel and Gretel house, and the iconic dragon that appears in many of Gaudí's works. The students worked in groups of three and had one hour to find all the hidden treasures. The three winners each won a mug that contained all of Gaudí's works.
