OM: A Day of Yoga
This week students headed to "Matria" to enjoy the relaxing embodiment practice none other than yoga! We started the activity by hitting the streets, where students were able to experience taking el subte (the subway of Buenos Aires) for the first time ever. Once we arrived to the yoga school, students were immediatly greeted with wonderful smelling insences, positive energy, and an overall warm welcome from the instructors. No time was wasted at all for everyone to begin; students got right into bending and strectching, showing off their best tree, warrior, and triangle poses. As flexibility and strength were tested, the room was filled with plenty of laughter and playful energy. As CIEE participants rotated yoga instructors, they also practiced mindfulness, learning how to be present in grounding poses such as mountain and breathe deeply.
Once students completed their yoga practice, we all moved outside to enjoy a group bonfire accompanied with warm chai tea, om chanting, and overall buena onda. Though this activity was different from ones previously done for the past two weeks, it was greatly appreciated as students were able to relieve tension and stretch out thier bodies.
Keep in tune for our next adventure!
