Morocco vs. Portugal
Today was Morocco's second match in the World Cup. They played a great game against Portugal and will play their final match with Spain next monday. Some students got Moroccan team jerseys and wore them today to show support.
The Rabat language and culture students met up with the Mohammedia service learning students at the American Language Center in Mohammedia to watch the match with Moroccan students and teachers. During half time, they ate pizza together and then cheered on the Moroccan national team for the second half.
After the match, the students played sports and went to the beach. They explored a different city with a slower pace than Rabat. Mohammedia is a port town between Casablanca and Rabat. Today, it is well known as a vacation destination and for the Samir oil refinery, which has been shutdown since 2015.
