On Tuesday and Wednesday the students split up into two groups for our cultural activities. One group went to the main cathedral in Palma and the other went to one of the most historic restaurants on the island, then the next day they two groups switched activites.

The most emblematic symbol of Palma de Mallorca is the cathedral. Named "La Seu", it's construction started in the 14th century after the Christain reconquest of the island from the muslims. In the early 20th century, Antoni Gaudi headed the renovation of the cathedral to make it more contemporary and added original pieces to the altar. The latest addition to the cathedral is a piece of artwork made by local Mallorquin Miquel Barceló in the 2000s. The cathedral's high ceilings make the building very unique, however it is not the largest cathedral in Spain.

Before the tour started, the students completed an activity in the King's Garderns to learn about the history of the cathedral. Once we enetered the cathedral, the students were given an hour to explore the artwork that the church had to offer. It was truly a breathtaking experience.
