Jardin des Plantes: Introductions, Tag, and Relaxin' in the Park!
On Wednesday after students' first leveled French classes and long Toulousan lunch, we headed to the Jardin des Plantes for some getting-to-know-you activities and then some free time in the park! Jardin des Plantes is right next to the Natural History Museum (which just unveiled a new dinosaur that will be added to their collection), which we will check out later in the program! The Program Leaders planned activities that students rotated through one by one, and by the end we all knew a little bit more about each other!
The free time left over in the park was utilized by different students in very different ways! Sam and Saul decided to climb some trees (promising to be careful, of course!), lots of students played chat perché (French for tag!), and a few of us started up a mini soccer game (in honor of the world cup, which French will HOPEFULLY take home!!!). Some students went to the café in the park to have an ice cream or a cold soda, while others walked in the shade and saw some strange looking birds that we definitely don't have in the US. Some new friendships are definitely forming, and everyone is settling into the next 3.5 weeks in Toulouse!! Tout se passe bien à Toulouse! :)
