Flamenco: ¡Oyé!
In more than one way, our students are finding their rhythm here in Barcelona! During the second week of the program, students participated in a masterclass-caliber flamenco session led by lifelong flamenco aficionado, Elena.
Flamenco is a dance form based on the folkloric traditions of southern Spain. According to Elena, the most important element of dancing flamenco is passion.
With music, traditional costumes (some of which were handsewn by Elena’s mother!), and a healthy dose of — you guessed it — passion, our students came prepared to groove. They definitely earned their flamenco stripes! ¡Olé!
