First week of Language Classes
Salam! Labas 3likum?
This week students started their language classes. Throughout the 4 weeks students will be learning the local Moroccan dialect called Darija and Modern Standard Arabic. Students were placed in their respective language levels and started to learn basic language they would need to communicate with their host families.
Students study language in the mornings and afterwards practice the language they learned with their Program Leaders in their into the community activity. During into the community students walk around the study center and use the language they have acquired by talking to locals.
On day one of into the community students introduced themselves and greeted locals. After a long day of studying students went to the beach! At the beach students had the chance to explore and reflect on their time in Morocco.
Excited for what is to come!
Your Program Leader,
Andreina
