Last Saturday our global navigators had a full day of exploring the north of the island. We met bright and early and got on our way, first stop, Pollença. In this quaint little town our global navigators had to find the highest point in the village and take a photo there, first ones to the top received a small prize. Off they went to scale the 400 plus steps to the top of Pollença to take in the views. After a bit of shopping and strolling the quiet streets on an early Saturday morning we were on our way.

Our second stop was the Mirador de Es Colomer. We were lucky enough to find a place for our charter bus to park and the kids got to walk up to the mirador and take in the Mediterranean from atop the rocky cliffs. This is one of the most visited viewpoints on all the island. Next stop, back down the mountatin for lunch and a swim in the clear waters of Playa de Formentor. We sunbathed, swam and relaxed after an already eventful morning. However, our day wasn't quite done yet, final stop Alcúdia.

Alcúdia was founded around the year 70 BC by the Romans. The historic centre is surrounded by a massive city wall and its medieval charm draws you in. Here we enjoyed a well deserved ice cream after all our trekking and the kids explored this beautiful walled city before heading back to Palma for a good night's rest.
