Environmental Awareness
This week students participated in a two part environmental workshop. Students tackled the issues of global warming, waste, and environmental sustainability. Students reflected on environmental awareness both here in Morocco and back in the US. Part one consisted of students learning about specific environmental problems here in Morocco and what solutions, communities have to solve the problems.
After hearing from Moroccan locals about what their communities are or aren’t doing about environmental problems, It inspired our students to think about lasting solutions they can implement back home in their own communities.
Part two two consisted of them going to a beach in a neighboring city where they collected trash and discussed waste more in detail. They then broke into groups and problem-solved different ways to bring more environmental awareness back home. Students got to test/identify their leadership and problem solving skills, while participating in this fun interactive workshop.
