The end of la experiencia sevillana
This wonderful experience is about to end leaving in all of us a bittersweet aftertaste. Sweet, because this was the first time abroad for most of our chicos (kids in spanish): they’ve learn and grown in ways they would have never imagined to be possible in one month. They made friends from other places and opened their minds when trying to adapt to such a different culture in a small period of time. Last week our students visited places like Triana (one of the oldest neighborhoods in the city, famous for its traditional pottery), where they participated in a workshop and painted tiles. Additionally, they went to El Museo de Bellas Artes (a well known museum were the chicos saw great examples of realistic paintings), lived with local Sevillanos (Citizens of Sevilla) and, of course, improved in their Spanish.
It’s bitter, on the other hand, because it’s almost over. They will soon be going back home to different places and living different lives. Hopefully, they will always remember the summer they spent in Spain as teenagers, and the friendships and experiences they gained along the way.
