Creative hands of the Amaru community

Yesterday we took a trip for about 30 minutes up the mountain to a community known as Amaru. There we shared many things together. We were first all dressed up in their traditional garments. Then we learned how to weave from coloring the alpaca hair, to creating thread, to actually weaving! It was very difficult and time consuming but I think we all have a new appreciation for all items hecho a mano in the market.

After we were finished learning all of that, they brought out some delicious and colorful potatoes and green ahí. We all sat in a circle and peeled the potatoes and shared mate. Then, we all danced!
