Casa Milà, Flamenco, & Copper Painting workshop
Today, our groups split up and did 3 different activities.
Jacob and Stephanie's group went to the Casa Milà, which is a building that was designed and built by Antoni Gaudí in 1906. It is one of the most well-known buidlings in Barcelona. The Milà family lived on the main floor and rented out the rest of the apartments. We enjoyed fantastic views overlooking the city from the rooftop, including the Sagrada Familia! We also learned about how Gaudí took his inspiration for his designs from nature.
Gwen and Amy's group went to the Pueblo español to do a copper painting workshop. The students painted a necklace that they will have as a souvenir of their stay in Barcelona!
Alicia and Spenser did a flamenco dancing workshop. The students dressed up in traditional costumes and learned the steps of the dance.
