Behind the Scenes: the Bohemians Football Club
On Friday evening, the moment all the students have been waiting for arrived: The Bohemian Football Club match. And of course, by football, we mean soccer. The entire week, students have been researching the Bohemian FC, or the “Bohs” as they are called, with the goal of coming up with new ideas to contribute to their business platform.
The Bohs is a community based, member owned football club that puts community development and football as equal priorities. The Bohemian Foundation, in partnership with the club, works in the community on projects with prisoners, the LGBT community, kids, elderly, and people experiencing homelessness or mental illness. Daniel, Director of Marketing and longtime volunteer with the club, took the group on an exclusive tour of the club including the stadium, pitch, sponsors lounge, and even through the locker room to meet the players.
To finish the night, we watched the Bohemians face off against the Sligo Rovers. Though the Bohemians didn’t win the match, the club did succeed at converting our students into Bohs fans!
