CIEE Session 2 Toulousers have been working hard after class to connect with their Toulousan community in their OzleFrançais activities. These activites are site specific throughout all the CIEE High School Summer Abroad programs, allowing each location to connect in a unique way with the locals. In France, it is called OzleFrançais, coming from the verb "oser"- meaning "to dare." In this way, students are daring to step out of their comfort zone to make connections in French with people the approach on the street. Talk about developping a great life skill to take with you anywhere in life!

On Tuesday, each level walked a bit to discover a new spot to have lunch. Students had to agree on a restaurant to go to, interact with the server in French by asking for recommendations, prices, etc, and then stay in French with one another throughout their whole meal! We hope that students will adapt this practice to keep discovering new places and challenging each other to stay in the target language! Some restaurants that students found were a HIT- some of the students went to a creperie, some went to a pizzeria, some had Frenchified burgers, and one group went to an Italian place! It was very cool for students to discover the diversity in food options that Toulouse offers!
