This weekend we had a chance to disconnect from the city for a while as we traveled to Alcúdia on the north side of the island. All of our adventurous sides came out as we admired the beautiful views and exciting activities in store for us.

On Friday, we ziplined and tested our archery skills. To cool off and relax afterwards, we took a dip in the crystal clear water before dinner. After dinner we were in for a special treat as we headed back to the beach to see if we could catch a glimpse of the lunar eclipse. As we were waiting for the moon to make its way above the mountain, we laid on our towels and looked at the stars. It was incredible how many stars you could see! Then finally, we were able to see the red moon creep above the mountain. It was so special to get to experience the lunar eclipse together!

Saturday was filled with even more adventure as we were guided by Tomeu, our leader for the weekend, cliff jumping from three different heights. Then, we snorkeled for a while and swam to a cave. Being in the cave was a bit scary at first, but the views from inside were incredible. The light shining in from the outside made the water glow a beautiful blue green, a sight I think the students will carry with them for a long time. After lunch and a bit of relaxation time, we did some rock climbing in the afternoon before heading to a local juice bar where we relaxed and cooled off with some delicious natural juices.

On Sunday, we hit the beach a little bit earlier when the water was perfect for kayaking and paddle boarding. Afterwards, we spent a little bit of time at the beach before getting ready to pack up and head back to Palma.

The weekend in Alcudia was the perfect way to get ready for our last week of classes!
