Always trust your instincts.
That’s what I did when I decided to chase a childhood dream of experiencing life in New York. It's a city I used to draw at age 8 and one I often imagined myself in – without ever daring to truly go and meet it.
When one of our deepest wishes resurfaces, it’s hard to know where to begin. Fear can paralyze us, disconnecting us from what truly drives us. I got caught up in a routine I thought was comfortable, but it didn’t reflect my desire to grow or explore the world.
All it takes is one decision to change everything. So I finally chose to take a leap, because you never really know what’s waiting for you until you make the effort to move toward what’s calling you.
And from the moment I made that decision in my mind, the fear started to fade, making space for a real plan and the dedication needed to reach my goals.
And it was only when I jumped in with conviction that the right opportunities – like CIEE BridgeUSA programs – began to show up. Fear is a powerful indicator of what truly matters to you.
If you’re afraid, it’s a sign that you can push past it – and go much further than you ever imagined.
