James P. Pellow, Ed.D.

President & CEO

James Pellow has led The Council on International Educational Exchange since 2011. CIEE’s mission is to humanize international relations and advance peace in our world by facilitating the respectful exchange of ideas through international exchange programs, including study abroad, global internships, teach abroad, and exchange visitor programs.

Mark Ward

Chief Operating Officer

Mark is responsible for leading CIEE’s central administration activities for finance, facilities, legal services, information technology, and business strategy development.

Jill Sady

Vice President & Chief of Staff

Jill Sady has been with CIEE since August of 2008, originally serving as program administrator for study abroad before assuming the role of assistant to the president for strategic initiatives in 2011.

Clara Rodes

Senior Vice President, Global Operations

Prior to working for CIEE, Clara worked in Argentina, Spain, and the U.S. in the financial and management consulting sectors, as well as in the business education field.

Carye Duffin

Senior Vice President, External Affairs

Carye Duffin began her career at CIEE in 1999. Over the past 24 years, she has held various management positions within CIEE involving crisis management, operations, human resources, and sales.

Martine Mangion

Senior Vice President for Inbound Exchange Programs

Martine joined CIEE as Senior Vice President for Inbound Exchange Programs in 2023. Prior to working at CIEE, Martine held various leadership positions at EC English, most recently serving as Chief Revenue and Product Officer, leading the organization’s sales, marketing, admissions, and product teams through post-pandemic recovery.

Linda Liu

Vice President for Strategic Initiatives and Partnerships

Linda leads critical initiatives and programs across the organization to expand and diversify access to opportunities for international education and exchange experiences that advance the organization’s mission.

Asenith Dixon

Vice President, Government Affairs and Advocacy

Asenith joined CIEE in 2021 as VP for Government Affairs and Advocacy, bringing with her 20 years of experience using activism to improve educational opportunities across the South. Her past advocacy work includes campaigns for universal access to advanced coursework and for bringing down the costs associated with applying to and attending college.

Debbie Cronin

Chief Financial Officer

Debbie Cronin joined CIEE as Controller in December 2015, was promoted to VP of Finance in September 2017 and was named Chief Financial Officer in January 2020.

Aida Gevorgyan

Vice President of Human Resources

Before joining CIEE, Aida served as Regional Head of HR for North America at EC English Language Centers. In her more distant past, she supported the Human Resources function for other mission-driven, non-profit and high growth companies within the education industry.

Paul Bradford

Vice President of Information Technology

Paul Bradford joined CIEE in March of 2009 as a member of the development team supporting CIEE exchange programs. He assumed the role as the Director of Software Development in January of 2016 and became Vice President of Information Technology in August of 2021.

Jennifer Higgins Pitre

Vice President of Philanthropy

Jennifer Higgins Pitre joined CIEE as Vice President of Philanthropy in 2023. She is responsible for shaping and leading CIEE’s first ever fundraising department. Jenn has over 25 years of leadership experience raising funds for non-profit organizations in higher education, social services, and health care.

Stacy Benjamin

Director of Professional Development

After participating in a CIEE Work Exchanges program, Stacy began her career at CIEE in 1994. She rejoined the organization in 2017, to lead a team supporting Minority Serving Institutions, and manage the Frederick Douglass Global Fellowship, before transitioning to her current role as Director of Professional Development.
