Asenith Dixon Bell

Vice President, Government Affairs and Advocacy

Biography

Asenith joined CIEE in 2021 as VP for Government Affairs and Advocacy, responsible for CIEE’s advocacy work on behalf of all CIEE study abroad and exchange programs...

Prior to joining CIEE, Asenith served as Senior Director for Government Relations for the College Board’s Global Policy and Government Relations Division. Before that, Asenith held various policy and analyst positions at the Southern Regional Education Board, the University of Georgia, and the Georgia General Assembly.

As a young teen, Asenith spent many summers volunteering at a non-profit community health center in Atlanta, where she canvassed public housing neighborhoods to encourage residents to stay vigilant about their health. Not only did she learn the importance of advocacy, but more importantly the power of advocacy. Asenith has utilized that activism to improve educational opportunities across the South for 20 years, advancing campaigns to grow access to advanced coursework in every school, to decrease fees and costs associated with applying to and attending college, and to celebrate students and teachers with governors, legislators, and state board of education members.

Asenith earned her bachelor’s in sociology with honors from the University of Georgia and a master’s in public policy from Georgia State University. Outside of work, Asenith reads voraciously, travels with curiosity, and cheers for her alma mater, the University of Georgia. She is based in Georgia.
