Initiatives
CIEE has enhanced and expanded Global Internship options for students from U.S. and international colleges and universities by:
- Expanding our internship portfolio to offer full-time and part-time internship programs in 40+ international locations
- Sourcing over 4,000 placements with 1,500 employers around the world
- Leveraging technology and CIEE’s global footprint to connect talented students with high-quality experiential learning opportunities
- Launching CIEE Internship Search, a personalized matching process and powerful new industry-leading search platform, which provides students and young professionals from around the world easy access to internship placements at hundreds of U.S. companies plus J-1 Visa sponsorship.
- Partnering with African American Irish Diaspora Network (AAIDN) and Ireland’s Department of Foreign Affairs on the Frederick Douglass – Daniel O’Connell Global Internship in Ireland, an eight-week international internship program in Dublin, Ireland.
- Partnering with Scan Design Foundation (SDF) on the Scan Design Foundation Environmental Sustainability Internship in Denmark, where eight students will receive fellowships and intern with Danish companies focused on environmental sustainability to prepare for their careers.
- With IIE, co-sponsoring a research study on career outcomes associated with global internship experiences.

At the 13th Annual CIEE Global Internship Conference (GIC) in Singapore, history was made as two student teams, Team Unstoppables (Uganda) and Team Path Seekers (Brazil), were named co-winners of the 2025 CIEE UNHCR Student Challenge, marking the first tie in the Challenge’s history.
