K-Pop Immersion

After months of planning and learning, the participants from K-Pop Immersion have arrived.   Landing early in Seoul gave us time to connect with other participants.  We played games sharing one thing that we brought and why it is imoprtant to us.  The youth focused their tired brains on transferring energy to one another through a fun energizer called "pass the electricity."  Finally, we had a chance to reflect on our trip, what brought us here, and what we are looking forward to while in Seoul.

Arriving and staying at the dorms was a new experience for them.  After we settled in and met our Korean hosts, we headed out to explore the city.  Being in a city as vibrant as Seoul gave the students plenty of IG photo opportunities, things to laugh about, and finally experience South Korea and K-Pop beyond their screen.  Speaking of K-Pop (the main reason we came here), the students sang in unison to the songs they knew, debated their favorite Korean dramas, and took pictures of K-Pop stars on the side of buses and buildings.  Our first day was short and eventful.  The students retreated to their dorm rooms to rest, talk, post to their story, and give updates to family.   This is the start for the second session of the Seoul K-Pop immersion group.  We are looking forward to more rich experiences throughout the next 3 weeks. Stay tuned!
