¿Qué hacemos hoy?
Every day here in Madrid is a little bit different! Here is a glimpse into our daily schedule and the activities that have been keeping us busy this week.
9:30-12:30 ¡Clases de lengua! Our students have been working hard in class to improve their communication in Spanish. They had their first class presentations on Friday- ¡buen trabajo!
12:30-1:15 ¡Almuerzo! After class, students eat sack lunches at the classroom center. Students have enjoyed trying the foods that their host families prepare for them, like bocadillos and tortilla española.
1:15 ¡Misión Ñ! In the afternoon, class groups hit the city to practice the vocabulary and structures they learned in class in real-life situations. This week, students have talked to locals in plazas, asked storekeepers questions about products, and interviewed CIEE staff about their families.
3:45 ¡Actividades culturales! Each day our cultural activities provide a new opportunity to get to know Madrid and Spanish culture. Check out the gallery for photos from our bike ride in Madrid Río Park, our visit to the Museo Arqueológico Nacional, and our language exchange at a local high school.
After cultural activities, students have some free time to explore and enjoy the city before returing to their homestays for dinner. This Friday we celebrated the end of our first week of classes with a dance party at a discoteca. Along with host families and new friends, students danced to Spanish-language music until everyone was exhausted! Today students are resting with their host families after an action-packed week in Madrid.
