Primeros días en Costa Rica
We have arrived to the beautiful country of Costa Rica!
Our first few days here have been spent getting to know one another and exploring our current ideas of sustainability. We have such an impressive group!
Today we visited La Carpio, a local community affected by the pollution from a nearby landfill. Students spent the morning learning about the area and some of the issues affecting this community from residents and local leaders.
The afternoon was spent reflecting on what we heard and saw... What did we see? Why was it important? What does this mean for the future? The group had so many thoughtful insights on their visit!
Tonight we will have our final dinner in San José... tomorrow we move on to Isla Chira, a remote island about three hours from the capital. Just a heads up, parents, we will have no internet access until Sunday! Check back on Sunday to hear about our adventures!
