¡Primer fin de semana en Alicante!
What a weekend!
Friday after classes, some of our travellers took the local tram to Playa San Juan to enjoy some sunshine and waves with each other.
Saturday was family time! Some students went to local beaches with their families, went shopping, and some even went to the movies and watched Hotel Translvania 3 en español!
Sunday we reunited to see Las cuevas del canelobre and Las fuentes de algar. At las cuevas del canelobre, our students were treated to a fantastic guide who had fun names for different stalgmites and stalactites, such as the elephant, the pencil, and Bart Simpson. Then after an hour on the bus, we arrived at las fuentes de algar. A majority of the students' stomaches led them towards the picinic tables to eat the lunches made by their host families. They then spent the rest of the afternoon exploring las fuentes, jumping off diving boards, swimming beneath waterfalls and (mostly) remembering to reapply sunscreen!
When we returned to ULab, the students were a bit bummed the day had to end, but excited for this week's upcoming cultural activities! Stay tuned for what is to come.
¡Hasta pronto!
