On our way to make a change: Arriving in Monteverde's Cloud Forest
Welcome to Monteverde, Costa Rica!
Bring your hiking boots and rain jacket because today we are exploring camp life.
We are staying in cabinas with a great view of the Cordillera de Tilarán mountain range. We also spend time on the hammocks enjoying the view.
There is refreshing rain that sprinkles us as we walk to dinner and around many campus paths.
We have experienced some local food staples like bean empanadas, rice and beans and also some USA favorites like chicken nuggets and chocolate ice cream. :)
The first few days are full of orientation meetings and hiking the campus grounds. So far we have seen monkeys, centipedes, hummingbirds, butterflies, coatis, and more!
Costa Rica and the locals have been kind and welcoming living up to the 'pura vida' lifestyle. Except for maybe the mosquitos!
Until next time, ¡hasta luego!
