Onboard the ¨Carnavalito¨ and some artistic collages
On Thursday, students took a bus tour onboard the ¨Carnavalito¨, an old traditional bus originally from Cuba, where they are called gua-gua. We were able to look at the most emblematic areas and buildings of Merida. The favourites? Colourful and big houses, the Monumento a la Patria and the Paseo de Montejo Avenue. During the drive, our guide explained Merida´s history a little more in depth, which was of great help for the students´ academic projects.
The first week is coming to an end and our students are finally getting a complete immersion in Yucatecan culture. And this is why they shared their experience and feelings through art, by creating a collage. Some of them showed Yucatan´s nature and others their happiness for being in Mexico.
And so they dive into their first weekend socializing with their host families.
