Memorable Moments in Tokyo
Yesterday was our last full day in Tokyo. We took advantage of the time we had in the morning by doing our laundry at the local laundromat and getting our luggage prepared for our next trip to Yamanashi.
Later on in the afternoon, we traveled to Ikebukuro to take a Japanese language and culture exam to assess how much we’ve improved since coming to Japan.
In the evening, we traveled to Akihabara and enjoyed eating together at a Shabu Shabu (しゃぶしゃぶ) buffet.
At the restaurant, we were able to choose our broth flavor and the food options we wanted to eat Shabu Shabu style. As we waited for our Shabu Shabu pot to boil, we talked with our friends about everything from our most memorable experiences so far in Japan to which Shabu Shabu combinations might make for a great dinner.
As we started to make our way back home, we rode the train from Akihabara to our lodging facility in Sangūbashi. Many exciting moments that we shared came to mind as we took one last look around at the neighborhood that we’ve called home for the past few weeks. We had mixed feelings about leaving Sangūbashi, and we remained wishful as we imagined the precious memories we would be able to create together during our upcoming excursion in Yamanashi.
