Mastering the Art of Chinese Painting
Today we learned about Chinese painting. We started by learning about the four treasures of Chinese art which are the brush, ink, paper, and ink pad. We started by practicing our painting, first starting with practicing painting pandas and bamboo.
Many of us started with embarrassing first attempts, but what else is to be expected? We continued practicing refining our painting skills for the final product and then had a competition.
Then we got the final paper where many started mixing many colors to get more visual variety. The prize was a face-changing toy panda!
The final product was to be produced on a calendar which left an unpleasant surprise, the paint was much runnier on the calendar than on the practice sheet. Even with this challenge, may overcame it producing may works varying from pandas sleeping on grass to modern pandas wearing sunglasses and supreme brand shirts.
