It's Tapas Time!
What better way to try Spanish tapas than by cooking and preparing them yourself! Students learned how to make their own tapas by attending a hands-on cooking class. The setting was not a traditional one in which one watches a step-by-step demonstration, but on the contrary, one with a differente twist! A recipe in Spanish was given to each group in the kitchen and from there, it was their time to work together, assign roles and tasks for reading and dissecting the different steps to prepare each of the following tapas dishes: "Albondigas en salsa", "Ensaladilla rusa", "Coca alicautina", and "Buñuelos de morcilla rellenos de mozarella". Let's just say, the kitchen was sizzling with energy! The best part of the experience was seeing the community effort represented in the whole process. Of course, the grand finale was eating all of the delicious tapas.
