Excursions!
After mornings spent hard at work at our service sites, our participants also the opportunity to immerse themselves in Dominican culture. So far, our participants have taken Spanish and dance classes at el Dominico, and taken various tours around Santiago and Santo Domingo. In Santiago, our students have visited Centro León, Villa de la Isabela, the Museum of the Mirabal sisters, and Los Pepinos!
In our Santo Domingo excursion, participants enjoyed a tour around Zona Colonial. During this tour, participants learned about the rich history of the city while getting to see the sites first hand! After our tour around Zona Colonial, we visited Tres Ojos where the students explored some of the natural beauty of the Dominican Republic.
