A Day At Mar De Fondo
Our Palma Session 2 students had an exciting and busy day on Wednesday. After morning classes and lunch we headed on a bus to a busy port and the incredible Mar De Fondo, a project with the mission to promote awareness about nature conservation and protection in Mallorca through educational workshops and events. Students had three activities that they rotated through. In one station they learned CPR and some water rescue skills. In another, we gathered trash from the beach, sorted it, and cataloged it for an ongoing project that gets reported to the local government in Mallorca. Lastly, students could try kayaks and stand-up paddle boards in the beautiful bay. After all of that, we had some time to enjoy the beach and some students swam and checked out sea life in the area. It was a tiring, hot, and enjoyable day here on the island of Mallorca. Enjoy some photos of students at Mar de Fondo.
