Cooking up a cultural experience
What's better than eating traditional foods when you travel? Being invited to learn to cook it yourself! Students did just that in the cozy kitchen of a local chef, who not only shared her knowledge of how to make Stamppot, but helped students understand the context behind the root vegetable and meat dish. Laughter filled the small space while those with previous cooking experience shared knife and peeler techniques with those cooking for the first time. As much fun as we had, the walk there an back was almost as good. We just can't get enough of the beautiful streets of Amsterdam.
