Class is in session!
Bienvenidos a Santiago De Los Caballeros!
Students were given an awesome introduction to the Language & Culture program during our orientation day, spent in the beautiful region of Jarabacoa. It was a day for our students to get to know one another and gain a better understanding of what the next 4 weeks of their program will look like.
Our kids will be studying at the Centro Cultural Dominico Americano here in Santiago. It is a bi-nationail center that is dedicated to the teaching of the languages and cultures of the Dominican Republic and the United States. Since 1947, this institution has been promoting the cooperation and understanding between these two cultures the the development of communication skills.
Each of the students have been placed in a specific Spanish class based on their level of knowledge of the Spanish language. Each group will be studying the Spanish language at the Dominico Americano each morning, Monday through Friday. Along with the classroom time, each day the students will be encouraged to practice what they learn in class while out and about in our local community, as well as with their host families. Here they are interacting with some locals at the supermarket!
With our committment to 100% Spanish immersion, these students will be fluent in no time!
Hasta la proxima!
