An afternoon in Spitalfields
Located in the east end area of London, Spitalfields is known to be the home of artists and creative individuals. Located in the Tower Hamlets borough, Spitalfields is a perfect dichotomy of modern and hipster buildings. Behind all the South Asian restaurants, markets and street performers, we can see the skyscrapers, including the spectacular and unique 30 St Mary Axe (The Gherkin).
On Sunday, July 24th, 2022, our students had the unique opportunity to explore this diverse and enriched neighborhood. Most of the students decided to do a little shopping at the famous Old Spitalfields Market, which is filled with antique stands, food stalls and vintage and high-end clothing shops. Some students explored the infamous “Brick Lane”, a street which is famous for its street food stalls and festivities every Sunday.
After spending a few hours exploring what Spitalfields had to offer, our students were treated to a lovely dinner at Bengal Village, an Indian restaurant located on Brick Lane.
