Ciani Bonner (she/they) is a TEFL-certified educator, writer, and community organizer, currently spending a year teaching English to high school students right outside of Bangkok. She is a distinguished graduate of Barnard College of Columbia University, where she earned a B.A. in Sociology with a minor in Urban Teaching. Her academic and creative work centers Black, Muslim, queer, and diasporic communities, with a focus on storytelling, education, and digital culture.

In Thailand, Ciani finds joy in the classroom—but also in the in-between moments where they approach every moment as a chance to connect. Through this blog, she shares her reflections on teaching, travel, faith, and finding belonging in a distant place—with a little humor :) and a lot of heart <3
