Hello and welcome!

My name is Rollguine (pronounced Ruh-Jean), but you can call me Morgan. I’m from Lexington, Kentucky. I graduated from Bryan Station High School in 2016 and went on to attend Western Kentucky University. There, I enrolled in the dual certification program for Elementary and Special Education. Like many educators during the pandemic, I started teaching a little earlier than expected—my first position came through Option 6 during COVID-19, and I’ve been teaching elementary ever since. It’s been a meaningful and eye-opening journey that’s helped shape who I am as a teacher.

I decided to pursue both teaching abroad and getting TEFL certified because I’ve always been curious about the world beyond my own classroom. I love teaching, but I also love learning—and what better way to grow than by immersing myself in new cultures and educational settings? I want to be equipped to support students of all backgrounds, and TEFL training gives me the skills to do that wherever I go.

Some of my goals include becoming more confident in teaching English learners, expanding my global perspective, and making connections with other educators around the world. I’d love to document this experience to inspire others, and eventually take on leadership roles in international education.

I’m honestly both excited and nervous. I’m excited to meet new students, see new places, and challenge myself in ways I never have before. But of course, stepping into the unknown comes with nerves—like navigating a new culture, handling language barriers, and being far from home. Still, I truly believe that growth comes from discomfort, and I’m ready to embrace whatever comes next.
