I Love London
My first trip abroad since arriving in Madrid couldn’t have been better. I went with my friend Nadine, who I’ve known since playing on the same tennis team in high school. She studied abroad in America from Germany for a year and since then we’ve visited one another on occasion over the last four years. I was ecstatic when she invited me to go on this trip to London.
…Upon arriving solo at the Luton, London airport I found a money-exchange counter and solemnly watched my hard earned 120 Euros get converted into a mere 80 British Pounds. As if that wasn’t depressing enough, I then paid 15 Pounds for my bus ticket into London. Despite all my money woes I popped in my headphones, turned on my ipod, and put on repeat, “I Love London," by the Crystal Fighters, as this was going to be my soundtrack for the weekend. Just minutes later I caught myself smiling from ear to ear; I just noticed we were driving on the opposite side of the road.
About one hour later I jumped off the bus and found the nearest underground station and was on my way to the Melville Hotel in Argyle Square—yes, Argyle Square, what could be more English haha. I found the hotel with ease and was once again reunited with Nadine. Below are some pictures from our three-day adventure.
