Holiday Spirit in Korea
It's the holiday season and what better way to show my holiday spirit than to make Egg Nog from scratch?
So, I did it!

I made this first batch two days ago. After letting it sit for more than a day it tasted excellent. I've had a couple of friends over already and they loved it so much they wanted more. I'll be making another batch for more friends tomorrow.
I went to Seoul this past weekend to buy some ingredients for the Egg Nog. While I was there I caught sight of some Christmas scenes around town.
Christmas tree and ice-skating at the City Hall Salvation Army in Insadong. The men with bells were everywhere--even in the subways. Christmas tree in the Mirae Asset building
It was 14 degrees in Seoul, and there was ice all over the ground. But I was careful where I stepped and walked around with a cheerful smile. Back at school I had to by some insulated slippers--Koreans don't wear shoes inside schools and homes, and sometimes restaurants--, which I also found in Seoul. I already had slippers provided by the school but they were open-toed.
Christmas is next week. There haven't been any plans made yet but I know I'll do something. Not so sure exactly what will happen. Beyond that, there's one more week of classes, and then vacation. I'll be going to Koh Samui and Bangkok, Thailand for a mini-vacation and my TEFL course. So, so, so ready to ditch these frigid temperatures!
Happy Holidays!
