Lectures

The Literature in Ireland program in Dublin includes guest lectures on a variety of topics such as:

Site Visits

Here are just a few of the possibilities for co-curricular activities and excursions in Dublin:  

  • Visit and tour of the University of Dublin to visit the Book of Kells to offer students a deep, hands-on encounter with the history of the written word and the preservation of literary culture.
  • Tour the Museum of Literature on Dublin’s St. Stephen’s Green. Expert local guides contextualise the lived experience of writers within the city over time.
  • Visit to the EPIC The Irish Emigration Museum. Students will experience interactive exploration of Ireland’s global cultural impact through the stories of its emigrants.  
  • Visit to The Irish Rock 'n' Roll Museum that highlights the deep connections between music, storytelling, and cultural identity.  
  • Visit to the Cliffs of Moher to provide students with a tangible connection to the narratives and landscapes that have shaped Irish storytelling traditions.

In addition to the programmatic and cultural inclusions above, a standard CIEE custom program includes on-site orientation, 24/7 emergency support, in-country transportation, accommodations, some meals, classroom space, comprehensive insurance coverage and logistical support from our on-site CIEE staff. We also offer marketing templates and other valuable tools to help you get the word out to students.
