Host Family Letter:

Dear Host Family,

I have been practicing rhythmic gymnastics for six years, and I really love it. I also do other sports, like swimming, skating and pilates. I play video games and board games. I like pets, although I prefer dogs rather than cats.

Now I'm at 10 and I have good grades at school, as well many friends. And I hope to do many more when I'm at my new high school!

In addition to going to school, I take gym classes three times a week. I am also taking self-defense classes. On Fridays I go skating with my sister and my dad, and on weekends we go out for breakfast or lunch, sometimes we go to the movies or play at home.

I love the idea of going to the USA because I will know a different culture, I will get meet all of you, know what it is like to live in a different country, and I hope to know new places and have amazing experiences.

I would like that in this next year I can improve my English, make many new friends and help me grow as a person.

I think that studying in another country is a fabulous experience and I thank you very much for giving me the opportunity to welcome me into your family.

I send you a huge hug!

Fabiana

Parent Letter:

Dear host Family!

We thank you in advance for all the attention, support and facilities you give our daughter Fabiana.
It is the first time that she will be away from us for so long, and we are worried about her, but we are sure that she will be in the best hands.

Fabiana is a wonderful girl, cheerful, very sporty, resourceful, responsible and detailed, although for some time now she has become more introverted and very demanding of herself. Adolescence, we suppose...
She is very close to her younger sister, she takes care of her so much. She has a group of friends which hangs out with at school and goes out to parties, and they all seem like healthy, well-behaved girls to us.

We hope that this experience of studying in another country will help Fabiana to mature more, to make her own decisions better.
We are sending Fabiana to study in another country because we believe that this experience will give her new perspectives of the world and help her to interact naturally with people of different ways of thinking.
Likewise, we believe that mastering another language is a tool that will be very useful in her personal and professional life.

Once again, thank you so much for opening the door of your home to our daughter. In the same way, “mi casa es tu casa” in Mérida.
Thank you for making it possible for Fabiana to have this incredible life experience.

Best regards,
Claudia and Antonio
