SITE VISITS

Here are just a few of the possibilities for co-curricular activities and excursions in Sydney:  

  • A visit to an engineering company to meet with the industry’s leaders and obtain a powerful learning experience that bridges the gap between theory and real-world practice.  
  • A guided behind the scenes tour of Sydney opera house, one of the most challenging and innovative construction projects ever attempted.   
  • Meet with local government officials to explore strategic plans for Sydney’s Development, considering both its historical context and future vision, including the City’s sustainability strategy. 
  • Visit Cockatoo Island, a UNESCO World Heritage site that started as a convict prison at the beginning of Sydney’s Western habitation and continued as a very important shipyard during the industrialization of Australia.  
  • Visit the Sydney Harbour Bridge Pylon and museum that details the fascinating history of the Harbour Bridge, including its construction, the engineers and workers involved, and the challenges they faced.

Every program is tailored to suit the needs of your academic goals – so every program has unique program inclusions and pricing based on your needs. In addition to the programmatic and cultural inclusions above, a standard CIEE custom program includes on-site orientation, 24/7 emergency support, in-country transportation, accommodations, some meals, classroom space, comprehensive insurance coverage and logistical support from our on-site CIEE staff. We also offer marketing templates and other valuable tools to help you get the word out to students.
