Christine B.

Cape Town, South Africa
Hometown: San Francisco

Christine was born in San Francisco where she grew up before moving to San Mateo to attend Hillsdale High School where she graduated in 2015 and entered the San Mateo Community College District school(s). Up until Spring 2018, she was set to to graduate with an associate in deaf history and communication where she sought out work to be a medical interpreter. After having hand and wrist surgery and finding out her time as an interpreter would be limited, she gave it some thought and decided to change her major. Since she wanted to enter the medical field as an interpreter, she thought it would be a great opportunity to work as a nurse where she could help patients both as a registered nurse and as a sign language interpreter if there is a need for one. Christine thought this would be the best option to utilize her knowledge of sign language and mesh it together with her love of helping people.
