My name is Huichen Yu, and I am currently a Mandarin teacher at High School for Dual Language and Asian Studies in the New York city. I have been teaching Mandarin as a foreign and native language. My passion is teaching language through culture and meaningful daily interaction. Working as a CIEE language and culture program leader is a great opportunity for me to achieve my goals as a language teacher.
We ended our visit to Hangzhou by further experiencing the beauty of local workmanship by the famous Grand Canal. Each of us instilled creativity during the umbrella-painting activity.
During July 26-28, we had a wonderful weekend study tour in Hangzhou, a neighboring city of Shanghai. Hangzhou is renowned for its natural beauty and preponderance of greenery within the city. Its rolling hills and placid West Lake have inspired locals to to say, “Above there is heaven, and below there are Suzhou and Hangzhou.”
We continued our tour to Hangzhou by visiting another historical site-the Ling Yin Temple and ended our Saturday by enjoying a wonderful water show-the West Lake Impression Performance, which was originally designed and performed for the G20 Summit in Hangzhou.
