CIEE Security Alert - Berlin

Emergency crews are continuing their response to a vehicular incident that occurred in central Berlin late July 25. The incident occurred when a white van crashed into a large crowd of persons attending the city's Christopher Street Day (CSD) pride parade near the Tiergarten Park. Initial reports indicate that at least one person was killed and about 15 others injured. A major police operation is ongoing in the area as officers search for the vehicle and driver, who fled the scene. Authorities have given no indication as to the cause or motive for the incident.

At this time, we have no reason to believe that any CIEE Berlin participants have been impacted.
