A Yogi’s Guide to Madrid: Best Studios for Every Mood
One of the best things I did while living in Madrid was getting consistent with yoga. I started taking classes through ClassPass with some friends, and it’s become one of my favorite hobbies. With only 16 hours of work a week, I had so much time for self-exploration—and yoga ended up being such a grounding part of that.
Madrid has a really cool mix of yoga studios, from spiritual sanctuaries to more fitness-focused flows. I’ve loved trying out different styles depending on my mood or energy level that day. Below are a few of my favorite spots—all of which I found (and booked) on ClassPass. Bonus: I took all these classes en español, which added a fun extra layer of challenge and focus.
Asana Groove – Salamanca
My go-to studio. Asana Groove is honestly one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever taken a class in. Think: candles, natural light, quality Lululemon mats, and a peaceful, airy vibe. Most of the classes I've taken here blend flow with spiritual elements like intention-setting or breathwork. The instructors are amazing and the space always feels warm and welcoming.
Cercle Studio – Chamberí
This women-owned studio is bright, colorful, and super community-focused. It’s a smaller space, which makes the classes feel more personal. There are mirrors everywhere (which has its pros and cons, depending on the day). The instructor was incredibly kind, and I felt really seen in the class. It did feel a little short—but that might’ve just been because I was enjoying it so much!
Barquillo Yoga – Chueca
Barquillo offers larger classes in a gorgeous, well-equipped studio. I love coming here when I want something more intense—they even offer heated classes, which are amazing for deep stretching. It feels a bit more like a full-on workout studio than a spiritual space, and they have great amenities, including showers if you're heading somewhere after class.
Prana House – Malasaña
This one felt like a total retreat. Prana House leans into the spiritual side of yoga, with incense, candles, and low lighting that helped me really disconnect and focus inward. The darker studio made it feel intimate and meditative, and I left feeling completely grounded.
Final Thoughts
I’m so grateful for these experiences and the incredible sense of peace, strength, and connection I’ve found through my yoga practice here in Madrid. What started as just a fun way to move my body quickly turned into a source of community and comfort. Whether I needed something intense, restorative, or spiritual, there was always a class that matched my energy.
If you’re living in Madrid or just visiting, I highly recommend exploring the yoga scene—it’s such a great way to get to know the city (and yourself) in a new light.
